LAX is very easy nowadays. If you can do an open jaw, maybe return from Shanghai, Beijing, or Tokyo. Returning to ORD from HKG-LAX is brutal - you get back at 6pm to LAX, then the next departure to ORD is 1150pm, reaching ORD at 6am -- hence I suggest open jaw or return through DFW.
