A couple of notes as the moderator team has been discussing this thread today.
There's nothing inherently wrong with a thread about why gay travel involves so much focus on where other gay people are. It's a valid question, and I think the discussion has been and can continue to be interesting.
Where it might become a problem if it degenerates into "why are gay people wrong?" It might also be a problem if it becomes "why do we have a GLBT Travelers forum?" as that topic was well-covered and won't be rehashed here.
One other note about where the thead might go wrong is if it ends up cluttered with a lot of "where does this post belong" posts. A gentle reminder to everyone that meta-discussion is off-topic, and we have a handy new "Report Post" feature where you can automagically email the moderators to look at a thread without making our gentle readers wade through a separate discussion.
In short, we're leaving the thread open and here for now, but play nice.
