Did you fly from the USA or are you talking about flying to/from Aust/NZ.

Surprised that NZ did not include a kit, but they have been having continual trouble with getting simple things loaded at LAX in all three cabins. So it may have been that, as I am sure you get a kit on long haul flights. But always best to pack a toothbrush.

Not to mention having their gate cleared. On a recent trip we had to wait 45 mins because south west decided to to plonk a plane and some other cargo at gate 23 in T2 hoping that nobody would notice. Why we could not dock at another gate was beyond me as we sat there watching them move a 737 and assorted junk.
