I enjoy costco alot, but after turning 40k in cards, i got all my cards shut down, a call from LP, and a threatening to remove my membership. i was honest, told him i was maximizing credit card rewards, and that i would stop. They were less than amused. the manager at the local joint still gives me the stink eye. The best part? i told them i would just take the gift cards and use them (about 10k left) for personal spend, they refused, told me i can never buy another gift card, then handed me a check for the rest. so in the end, i won, but dont kill the golden goose. This was back when we were getting 2-3% off Amex gift cards, so there was zero liquidation costs. Made some easy money and a ton of points.
