That might make sense, but Accor doesn't make sense!
I just tried to book at hotel in Dubai online. The Accor web site gave Mastercard and Visa as the only payment options. (It also said it would be charged now, when the rate type says that it can be cancelled for free up to 3 days prior to arrival.) I phoned and asked why I can't use Amex and they didn't know.
I was able to book the same rate using Amex over the phone, even though Amex is not offered online.
