I want to book to use my over 100 E-ups before they expire at end of Feb and this is not looking positive.Surely AC needs to show better availability to its SE than this. Go figure with the new competition we face with pay ons , LMUGs, etc.
There's no way to know whether zero seats are booked (unless you have a source within AC), but if no seat is currently occupied you're probably correct that the availability is wide-open.

But keep in mind GRU is a business traveller heavy route and most business pax don't book far in advance.

FWIW, if you're trying to upgrade now, you need to pay for a Latitude fare, in which case R availability is irrelevant. You can confirm your upgrade if there's P availability.
