I remember someone reporting on this forum a few months ago that they overheard HEL gate staff discuss op-ups right before boarding. Their policy was, IIRC, "first upgrade any AY plats and golds travelling alone". Of course this doesn't make it public or guarantee that the policy has applied or will apply on other flights.
