thanks GrussGot! it just so happens that the Pilot is the other TB bag that I've been eyeing! Since you own both, would you say that there is a drastic "visual size" difference and/or "packing capacity" difference between the two? If pressed, would you hypothetically be able to fit a pair of sneakers and maybe a day or two's worth of clothes in the Pilot w/ a laptop and some folders?
Measurement wise, there only seems to be an inch or two in each dimension difference between the two, but the Pilot seems to have half the liter capacity of the WF in specs, so I'm wondering what the "real world" applications are like.
as far as the WF fitting under the seat, I always imagined that it would, but my main concern is more of how it looks in combination with another carryon bag/rollaboard. Carrying on the WF by itself should be automatic, but would you look like "that guy" obviously trying to cheat the system if people saw you with a roll aboard AND a WF (aka mr. 2 carry on guy)? maybe its just a perception thing, who knows, but have you had luck carrying on the WF & the Aeronaut 45 together on the same trip? or was it always one or the other or WF alone?
thanks everyone for being so helpful in this thread!
