I was just checking in HNL/BKK this morning at the HNL SkyClub and the agent, after thanking me for my loyalty, commented we were nearing the end of the Delta service to BKK. After December it will only be by other carrier from NRT.....he speculated China Eastern would be the primary code share.

I just landed at the Tokyo SkyClub and checked for a January flight. Chose some random (flexible) dates, and sure enough, only code shares. And wow....the prices are 2-3x higher for 90% of the grid.

From this point I'll be compelled to go KL. I've tried and found the product better on Delta but the price better on Korean. I've stuck with the higher cost product for a better experience and to maintain my status. It's been harder the last few years to rationalize this and at this point my decision is made for me on the BKK runs.

BTW: Agent also said another change is a smaller jet and downsizing of the Manilla flight from HNL.
