IME AC narrowbody J and widebody PE seats are comparable in terms of comfort.
Both seats provide slightly better comfort than regular Y seats but nowhere near the lie-flat J seats.
On a scale from 1 to 10 where 1 is the worst comfort and 10 is the best comfort, I'd rate the regular Y seats 1, lie-flat J seats 9, narrowbody J seats 4, and widebody PE seats 3.
