You don't have to be a jerk. Yes, I can read.

Why do you want to have a closed card roll off at 10 years? It hurts me none for it to sit open. My FICO is 824 currently, being hurt by a couple of inquiries for cards I now have (Citi Prestige, JP Morgan Reserve and a limit boost on the Freedom). My oldest open account is more than 18 years old (Freedom card, once a Yahoo! Visa), and that is helpful.

I just have all my accounts pay on the due date and have enough credit that the % to limit isn't an issue. With my new JPM Reserve, that's a hidden trade line, so that won't be counting toward utilization anyway. If you close an account that would otherwise have available credit and unutilized, it increases your utilization and some might be affected by that.
