I understand that Air China offers a free transit hotel for "overnight layovers" within 24 hours. I have a layover from 7am to 1am Beijing time (17 hours) - but I'm wondering since it's not strictly all night, in fact it's mostly during the day, is that considered "overnight" and therefore does it qualify for a hotel?
