I have paid once to get 64K, but as I don't have status on BA, I'm guessing that seat wouldn't be available any more.

I echo the comments of the other posters, I am in the US in the moment and came over on AA and was very happy with the experience. Apart from my flights in BA First in November, I will continue to book AA until BA up their game to AA levels (and who would have imagine typing that a few years ago)
