Looking at possible seat bookings, BA want UKP68 to reserve a seat. Per person.

Does anyone actually pay UKP68? Why? I cannot see the value of spending UKP 68 from my pension on a seat booking. My last employer would certainly not have paid!!
The J booking came about through WT+ sale, less some pounds for part avios payment, then an avios upgrade. So I'm mean.
On the way back, no avios availability. So I guess I just call them frequently to find out of avios seats become available.
another way to look at it is if the flight was £68 more than you paid would you still book the flight? (for that matter £68 x the number of people going)
I normally stump up the money to choose the seat I want. I understand it is free for Silver and Gold members and rightly so they fly a lot more than me.
