Thanks for the feedback Stimpy. I appreciate it. The size and intimacy of Santa Rosa is definitely appealing, and overall it would be my top choice. However, since this will be my husband's first hacienda stay I think he will enjoy the more complete experience that Temozon offers in terms of having so much of the history intact - the buildings, equipment, rail line, etc.

We came very close to springing for a private hacienda, but in the end we decided to save that money for another trip to Mexico - maybe Zihuatanejo, Oaxaca, or San Miguel de Allende. TBD.
