Keep checking within the 24H period. It's doubly annoying that both V and P must be available. This is a reason why I don't like UPDI fares unless I'm pretty certain about not changing my return flight.

It can work if a phone or CS agent does it manually. This would require OP to do homework prior to requesting to be booked directly in P--and an agent who will do it.
