My colleague is a sales role and travels weekly. She was a United GS flyer that switched to Delta last year (not through any specific match program). Before she knew she was 360 for 2016 she ended 2015 with her status saying platinum and her mobile app indicating 2016 status as Diamond. I have a screenshot from her iPhone that I will try and post later (she couldn't figure out what was going on).

She does not control any corp. spending but possibly Delta felt she was a potential high value customer (home airport if EWR/NYC). Her MQD's for 2015 was in the $30K range.

She has since flown enough for Diamond but it was a strange situation (not sure if 360 gives you automatic Diam without requisite qualification). I'll try and get more info.
