I've just got off the phone with the Airpoints team, and they were very helpful. They said that in spite of the email I got sent, my ticket isn't showing as being paid for by Airpoints, so I should receive APDs and SPs. They advised me to keep my boarding cards just in case, and put a note against the ticket.

Just to give you some more background, immediately after I paid for the tickets, I was redirected to another screen which gave me the option to select a seat. I do recall that the seatmap of the A320 was different from the one I'm used to; it was more cartooney with bigger rounder more "fun" graphics. After I selected the seat, it then gave me the option to pay by card or with APDs.

I have gone back through MyBookings in the Airpoints portal to look at my seats, and it now shows the traditional seatmap. I have also tried to do a Seat Select on another flight and only got an option to pay with a card.

When I spoke to the Airpoints service desk guy, he said that there are a number of changes in pipeline to give more options for Airpoints spend.
