As a sole traveller, I put the intimacy and what I perceive as a more personal and attentive service on the B789, due to the lesser seat count, as a bonus. Not once have I had an issue with the oft mentioned ratio of passengers and crew to the single toilet. My favourite seat is 2A; little foot fall to the loo, no light disturbance from the galley and close to door L2 for disembarking. As a sufferer of spasmodic mild sciatica, I also find the seat significantly more comfortable for sleeping and the improved cabin air leaves me significantly less jet-lagged than other aircraft in the fleet, especially the B747 and B777,
Travelling as a pair, however the lack of a buddy seat is regarded by many as a significant drawback. However, unless you desire a window seat, the middle pairs on the B789 are eminently suitable for travelling as a couple IMO, especially row 2.
The A380 has an abundance of extra space, but I do feel BA missed an opportunity with their First cabin on that particular aircraft and it leaves me somewhat underwhelmed, albeit better than the B747. The reverting back to the standard First menu removes, for me, another incentive to select the A380 F cabin if I have a choice of two flights with different types..
It is such a personal and subjective topic, however, and if you are able to sample them both, I would recommend that as your best option; giving you an opportunity to come back with a comparative trip report.
