If you want a real treat, be at ANA's Tokyo counter right before they open for the day.
They perform an opening ceremony and all of the customer service agents, in their pristine attire BOW DOWN to their customers at the end in a huge display of respect. I was going to post this on youtube but I only managed to record the last few seconds.
EVA isn't half bad either. In two cases I should have missed my flight
1) manager at counter in YYZ answered the phone # they have published for YYZ at 1am and did papssort check via phone. Parked at T-32 minutes and made the flight.
2) got to HKG's 'airport express' metro station at t-47min. agent informed me it was too late to checkin there but to take the 15min train ride anyway. while I was on the train she had a colleague at the aiport force check us in. Two agents, (in heels and dresses!) got us right through immigration and security. They ran with us the whole (long) way to the gate, assuring us we'd make it if we kept up with them. They wouldn't even consider the $100us tip we tried to give then.
Never once did they tell us they couldn't/wouldn't/didn't have to help.
