I've got two hours, so although our time in SEA is minimal, we should be fine...I just hope my travel companion gets pre-check too, which will make me feel better.

Yeah it can still be really difficult to check bags through on separate tix UA-UA. I hope you've left enough time to do the reclaim/recheck at SEA.
That security protocol was eliminated quite some time ago.
