Is HP coming to kill UA in LAX?
Yes, I know the title is a bit overstated, but:
Starting in June, from LAX HP will offer:
-new service to IAD: 2 non-stop routes
-new service to YVR/YEG/MZT/PVR
-JKF/BOS increases to 3x/day (1 addit'l flight per day)
On the HP board, they're talking about rumors of MIA as well.
Add AS's new LAX-DCA n/s to the mix and it sure seems like LAX is becoming very competitive again - not to mention, cheap as he** (esp transcon). Is it just AS and HP duking it out for who will play second fiddle to WN in the LCC LAX market, or is this trouble for UA with nearly all transcon fares sinking like a rock.
