I have spend 3 long calls with the Qatar Airways helpdesk to get a quote/offer on the OneWorld Trip Explorer ticket. Both the customer service agent and I came to the same conclusion about this ticket:
it is practically useless for European travellers.

From Europe, it is pretty popular to travel to Australia/NZ and Southeast Asia. At first, OneWorld Trip Explorer seems perfect because you will do Europe + Middle East + Australia + Southeast Asia and back.

Unfortunately, you are required to stop in SOUTH Africa. Northern Africa is suddenly considered Europe.

A stopover on the southern hemisphere, in South Africa, when you want to travel to Australia/Southeast Asia makes absolutely no sense. It will take a lot of time and will be an exhausting trip. Also, a vacation/travelling to South Africa is usually a stand alone trip for Europeans, definitely not combined with countries on the other side of a massive ocean.

Trip Explorer can be great, but not for Europeans unfortunately

Now Kilroy has offered us the following (this is not an Explorer ticket). For a consumer, it is impossible to search on an airlines website or Google Flights or Kayak for this trip, even just the first 5 will lead to no results. How do I know whether this price is competitive?

DPS>DRW (Darwin, Australia)
DRW>CNS (Cairns, Australia)
MEL>CHC (Christchurch, New Zealand)
AKL>SYD (New Zealand back to Australia just to be able to go to MNL)
SYD>MNL (to Manila)
BKK>AMS (via DXB)

The gaps or missing segments will either be done over land or via cheap airlines like AirAsia. I believe DPS>DRW should not be part of this itinerary because AirAsia is just €30pp for that route, but the lady added it anyway.
