I called the aa.com support line and spoke to one of their guys who indeed saw the same price as I did made the reservation and then put me on hold while he went and spoke to someone higher up on the food chain. this person also saw the same price I did but said no. if I wanted that flight I would need to pay 400 bucks more. and of course the typical "sorry"
