I think the rant is about kids simply increasing the body count due to being free guests not subject to the 2 guest limit

In my case the ability to bring spouse+kids is precisely why I bought the Club card with membership benefit.

Fundamentally the crowds are based on selling or giving away access. If the clubs were strictly limited to C boarding passes (like SKL in SIN) that would empty them all out.
