Travel notifications are obsolete I remember. Since the beginning of 2015 I started getting emails about each one of my cards not needing travel notifications. Oddly they spread the notifications for 4 cards over the course of a year, but I imagine by now all accounts are covered.
For me, AmEx is the only issuer that's explicitly said they don't need one. But that's probably in part because they can apparently figure out that you're traveling to X from Y to Z dates if your charge your airline tickets to it (if the online statements are any indication).
In general though I think travel notifications still have some value, at least until we stop swiping--but that'll take quite a long time the way things are going.
