I could have opted for a 50min connection, but chickened out as I have never been through DFW before.
American operates out of three terminals at DFW (four if American Eagle flights are taken into consideration). With the Skylink trains you can easily get between any two terminals in under 10 minutes, including wait and ride times.

MCT for American Airlines passengers at DFW is 40 minutes.
