I could have opted for a 50min connection, but chickened out as I have never been through DFW before.
Since AA is located in several terminals, always a good chance to have to change terminals.

Skytrain is easy to navigate and quick, so you would have been most likely OK with 50 minute connection even with a terminal change, but with longer connection you can plane watch, people watch or get something to eat. The new terminal has quite a few choices.
