I have a fare on hold w/ AA; flying J LAX-HKG-LAX in November for $2646,-. I have a $250,- voucher which knocks this down to $2396,-. I've calculated that I will get 20144 RDM (because I'm PLT), but also 8000 bonus RDM (because of their Asia promo). I've also calculated that I would get 29040 EQM (because I'm flying J), which would put me under 8k EQM away from EXP. I have to fly from JFK to LAX and back, and will be crediting a BA leg to my AA account which will out me within 1600 EQM of qualifying. Do I bother doing this? Must book by tonight.
