First, on most of the flights I've been on the last couple of years... I have witnessed many times "tight connectors" were indeed first off and then off on the full sprint to their next gate.

And in the above quote lies the biggest dilemma. How to prioritize?

Who is deserving of the "red flag"?

The group of 10 who need to catch the only flight to HKG that leaves in 20 min?

The couple traveling to OMA who have a flight scheduled to leave in 5 min, (but is actually delayed waiting for crew)?

The Family of 5 who are flying to MCO, and their flight is scheduled to leave in 5 min (but actually left 10 min early, because operations saw the misconnect)?

The DYKWIA who saved a flag from his last flight, that just wants to hurry up and get to the UC.

Oh no! we were not catered with the red flags!
