I don't know about the 757 specifically or the version of it for your flight, but exit rows can have lots of legroom and some exit rows can have limited/no recline. I've heard some folks say that these seats are harder and hence not as comfortable. There might also be width differences if tray tables or IFE screens are in the armrests, which then would not be moveable.
Assuming the exit row isn't a bulkhead, why would IFE screens be in the armrest? Exit rows with limited/no recline are ones that have another exit row behind them. Agreed that sometimes the seat hardness can be an issue in exit rows.
