Loved the idea.

Went to the site, nothing much there. Went to a CIBC branch, found out the product isn't ready yet and has been pushed back repeatedly.

Also wondering about possible fees?

What I did learn at CIBC though, no release date but, somehow each branch has different currency options. The one I went to said they'd have 5 options. I specifically said "ad says like 10 including (mentioned a few she didn't)" and she then said something to the effect of "yes, some branches will offer blah blah".

Strange. It's as if you have to get the physical currency from the branch, thus needing to identify a branch that will sell you that type of currency, to then add it to the card. I was really under the impression everything would be done online if you were a CIBC customer. If not, I was under the impression you'd likely be able to walk into a branch, "deposit" ____$ CAD and they'd convert it at the current rate and load it on the card.

I am still really interested in the product, but we'll see how it goes.
