It looks like the fare was correct!
This is a one-way fare with fare breakdown from ITA Matrix. It looks like this is really 2 fares in one - not a combined fare ticket. I mixed up a ticket with 2 airlines which can interline with a combined ticket. Looking at expert flyer, a combined ticket would be about this fare (except on a return basis), if one were to go via ORD or EWR on UA - except UA does not go to MYR - at least on the days I wish to travel. The booking code correspond to the flex fare on AC; the K fare is what I got on DL.
Well, for whatever is it worth; I will get lounge access in everywhere (except MYR where there are no lounges) - YOW at MLL, YYZ outbound at Premium Plaza lounge (I have a Canadian AMEX Platinum card; ATL in both directions- lounge in T5 as I have a Priority Pass card (I could go to a Delta lounge on the ATL-MYR flight, and pay the companion fee for my wife - whatever that fee may be?). I could potentially upgrade the AC flights.
I hope to upgrade for myself and my wife on the AC flights (with a tango fare, I could have upgraded - but even for a SE there is a co-pay - so how much would I have saved by upgrading a purchased tango fare on 4 AC segments?)
I really did not want to drive between ATL and MYR or between CLT and MYR.
I considered going via CLT to MYR on AA - but reasons I turned that down is the AC flight between YYZ and CLT is a one-cabin plane (one can not upgrade); and I had no options for lounge access in CLT (AA does not allow lounge access even for passengers from/to Canada flying business class-even if it was a business class ticket all the way); there would have been no lounge access at T3 in YYZ as AA flies from there, and there is no Plaza Premium lounge in transborder area of T3; and again, I would have no access to the AA lounge there.
