As to gold benefits, agree with the above, access to gym/pool, access to continental breakfast. I disagree with the dark/dingy connotations, the breakfast (and the lounge where it is, right off the gaming area) was fine...if you like continental breakfast.

As a gold, there aren't as many benefits to get "cheated out of" so checking in at the airport actually makes sense. You can also go into the little frosted room by the main check-in desk if you have questions.

Also, remember to bring the gold card, you have to show it to the breakfast and at the gym, where they write down the number.
