I had two different tickets.
AA IAH-LAX-HKG
Cathay HKG-BKK

When I checked into IAH, the front counter agent refused to check my bag to BKK since it was a different ticket. When I inquired at Admiral Club in LAX, they said I had to ask for a supervisor. I asked if a gate agent could have helped me and they said no.
