This is one of the main reasons I take out separate travel insurance with coverage for lost or delayed baggage. Insurance companies may be soul-sucking scum of the earth, but at least they're more pleasant to deal with than airlines.
Oh big time! In span of 3 months, I have claimed 3x with my Credit Card Travel Insurance and they're all honoured with no questions asked. They are way way way easier to deal with. ^
