I've given this a lot of thought and I honestly think I'll just follow the promos. Hyatt has become somewhat like Delta Airlines for me. When I'm on a Delta plane I love the service I get and feel welcome, but when I try to navigate the pre-flight stuff, it's so bad that I avoid them. Hyatt has become the same way. Like a poster above said, I do feel like a guest at Hyatt, but Gold Passport has declined and the BRG program is an absolute insult to long-time loyalists.

Marriott on the other hand is more like United Airlines (ironically given their partnership). I don't feel the warm and fuzzies in the air with United nor in the hotels with Marriott, but they have some customer friendly policies. United has the 24 hour same day confirmed and Marriott has a fairly easy BRG program and decent promos (although this year has been declining). Their footprint is also better much like United's *A route network is.

So what do I do.........warm and fuzzy with cruddy policies or meh stay experience but customer friendly policies? I honestly still haven't decided. I'm 200K away from Lifetime Platinum with Marriott, and I'm going to try to achieve that within the next year (Rewarding Events are my friend in this). Then I will likely do enough to keep Hyatt Diamond and Hilton Gold and then be a free agent.
