The one thing I don't see addressed is the baggage issue. If your bag arrived a day later and you had to buy some emergency stuff to tide you over, you may be able to claim it from the airline. File the claim with receipts as soon as possible, as the longer you wait, the less likely you are to be approved.

The key is identifying which airline to file with. Do you have any information as to which airline screwed up with your bag?
