I've always tried to hedge all of my rewards, both FF and Hotels.

This is my first year of Hyatt Diamond from the match, but I've already re-qualified easily. Including my MLife stays, I should end the year at about 70 nights. For Q4, I'm planning 20 nights (will use all my DSUs) of personal stays at various Hyatts.

Next year, for my 100 - 125 stays, I'm not sure how I'll allocate them. I'll have Hyatt Diamond, SPG/MR Plat, and HHonors Gold. The latter I use for some business trips to Asia, and the I prefer the Ritz for my London stays (ease of having afternoon tea).

The rest, I'm not sure. But, I'll likely hedge by allocating more stays to Hyatt, if only because I only have until 2018 to clear out all of my accrued SPG points before the official merger. I suspect, I'll front load my Hyatt stays, especially if they keep doing these promos 75K per 25 stays where Vegas (spend 30 nights there alone per year) counts!
