I have a no-registered credit card Mobile SUICA account on my Samsung S4 that I recharge with cash, so now that Felica is supported on the iPhone and I want to move away from Android, this looks like good timing.

So my questions (I understand some of them may not be answerable yet)

1. will there be an option for a cash-recharge only (no registered card) version of the iPhone Mobile SUICA app (same as Android), or will it require a Japanese issued credit or debit card or some integration with a Japanese registered Apple Pay account? If it requires the local banking registration of some kind, then I assume this entire scenario is a non-starter for any of us living outside Japan planning on using the phone for SUICA purchases during trips

2. will the Apple Pay version installed on a Japanese model phone be compatible with US Apple accounts?

3. are there any other surprise gotchas that might reduce the usability of a Japanese model phone outside Japan? From what I can tell it has the same frequency list as the US Verizon/Sprint model iPhone, possibly the only problem I see is the shutter sound you can't turn off (unless someone releases an 'app for that'), otherwise it should be identical to a US phone once you set it up with US localization - I guess someone needs to buy one and confirm no other surprises

Given the run on these phones in both the US and Japan, I doubt I would have a chance to buy it in either country for another month or so, after which I hope there is more data to confirm what is doable.
