Why would you assume you are going to lose LT status and why would you start again with Marriott? All you have to do is keep staying with SPG and you keep your Lifetime benefit and that will convert to the lifetime status in the new program. They haven't even started working on what the new program will be but already announced this morning that they have kept LT status from previous mergers and will so in this one.

Hyatt Diamond is quite easy to achieve but given what we know so far, SPG with the vastly expanded redemption options is a winner for me.
