I had this issue on Wednesday at YYC as well. Tried to check in at the machines at the domestic side and it said something along the lines that my Aeroplan # was not found. Then I went to the priority check in and my number wouldn't pull up on the system either. In the end I missed my flight and had to be re-booked on the next one.
You missed your flight??? Sheesh. There's a data point for the thread trying to quantify the cost of AE/AC's IT problems.
I have to wonder, were you unable to check in with any form of ID other than your Aeroplan number? Usually a passport, credit card, etc. works fine to check in, no?
