Also, I asked about plugging them into IFE - she said that was fine, but I felt bad because I would still be watching and listening to my iPad movie and would have felt bad.
According to this Advisory (https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviati...0124r-1745.htm) the problem with the noise cancelling headsets is not that you can't hear, it is that there is a cord. Cordless should be fine. But I know it isn't - they always ask me to remove mine as well. Like I said above, I don't mind listening to the FAs, I just mind not being able to block out the ads.
