I will be in Beijing Oct 14-19.

For the 19th, I am considering a 06:50 PEK-HGH flight option.

So my new bright idea is to stay in the city center for 4 nights, do Mutianyu on the 18th, then have the car + driver drop us at an airport hotel.

- Assuming I used one of the highly recommended drivers mentioned in this forum, would you feel safe leaving your bags (no valuables) in the car with the driver while on the Great Wall?

- In general, how early do budget hotel airport shuttle buses run? and what time would you suggest we arrive at PEK?

I've read many a Tripadvisor review lamenting the lack of taxis in and around airport hotels in the light of day. I can imagine it'd be impossible to find one at ~5 am. Of course, one could be ordered by the front desk in advance, but I am asking the question none the less.
