70% of my long-haul sectors (20+) in the past year have been in variants of the 777 (QR/SQ/BR/CX) and three sectors in QR A350. I have come to the conclusion that the A350 felt newer (as new planes should), perhaps a bit quieter (really not much difference from the middle biz seats), but as you have noted, not quite as spacious as the 77x.
