It seems the status holders are die hard fans here. But that begs a BIG question:

How many (%) flyers are status holders out of the total pax count ? What happens to the non status flyers when they see these changes take place ? Would not they be able to do comparison like many upstream ?

This you can take to the bank:

All savings will fall to the bottom line, raising earnings, stock prices and bonuses. This is like an opium pipe, cannot give it up , so do not expect any competitive pricing.
I think we're rushing to judgement on this one though, before we know the details.

If, as is alleged, status passengers won't have to pay for the BoB food, this is actually a significant improvement. We would actually get to eat some nice food for a change instead of inedible rolls, croissants, crisps, biscuits and yoghurts.

For occasional travellers, I really don't know what the outcome will be. I think the majority probably decide on price rather than anything else, and cost of baggage.

However, I do join the majority in thinking that this change will make precisely zero difference to fares...
