I'm trying to book a complicated MileagePlus international ticket (a stopover, and two open jaws over eight flights) before the big changes take effect on October 5th. I can't do this on United.com (it tells me to call reservations). I've called reservations several times, but keep getting an overseas res center. These overseas agents are worthless with complicated itineraries. They are ill-trained (and I'm putting that nicely) and often will conveniently disconnect the call when any problem arises.

Is there a way to call a USA based MileagePlus res agent? Maybe a special phone number, or a certain time of the day, or some other way. I have no United status. Thank you.
