This. Simple good housekeeping. I'm on Windows 10 and have had my data on a separate partition (D:\) since Windows 95. Music is on E:\ and videos are on F:\. All you have to do is point My Documents, My Music, and My Videos to the appropriate partitions for "default loving" programs.
