But your loyalty in this case is to the Aeroplan points, not Air Canada. Since they are totally different companies you should try contacting Aeroplan and see if they will buy you a revenue seat from Air Canada when you use your points.
Why would Air Canada open a seat for you to make you more loyal to the aeroplan points system when they don't own the aeroplan points system?
