If I were to email the AC RM, I would make the argument that I'm SE, I've hit the AQD requirement, and I'd really like some X space on a certain flight, if the loads are such that they don't think it will sell out.
But see how that starts with "I'm a customer who gives you lots of money", and asks for a seat if they don't think they can sell it?
It's at least remotely plausible I could get it opened up.
On a few occasions in the past, stores accepted returns of purchases I made even though I was past the allowed returns time limit or the tags were missing. They did it as a goodwill gesture to get my loyalty and satisfaction even though I didn't shop there frequently. So how about AC do a goodwill gesture for my first Aeroplan redemption ?
